Introducing Leo

I can't believe I lost two cats last year... :(

Anyway, this is a happy post! I'm introducing our new Bengal, Leo. We waited a long time for him, we wanted to save our money and make sure we were making a good decision and getting what we were paying for.
He's amazing! His mother and father are both top winning show cats. In fact, his father is the Supreme Grand Champion (3x) brown bengal. His mom has placed top in a lot of categories also.

I'm usually a huge advocate for rescuing animals. In fact, this is the first pet I've owned that I haven't rescued. I feel guilty for it in part, but this will be our only animal that we'll ever own that is not rescued.

He is very, very wild. I mean, out of control wild. Bengals are bread from actual leopards, and he definitely lets you know it! He jumps really high, meows a lot, and attacks and plays constantly. He also loves playing in water. He spills all the water out of his bowl to play in it and he's always jumping in the bath when there's water. He is also always at the sink. He's so fun but a lot of work! I have to keep his nails trimmed like every day or else he'll cut you and it hurts!

Here are some pics: These were taken when he was 14 weeks old.

Here he is trying to make friends with my super sweet 5 year old cat, Zoey:

Absolutely gorgeous kitty! I hear that because of the breeding, these guys have hair and not fur, which means they don't aggravate allergies. Is that true?

OMG! What a handsome boy!! Those eyes are so beautiful! His coat is so pretty too! I know that Bengals and savannahs have ""wild DNA." Even if Leo wasn't from leopards, we would still be hyper since all kittens are nuts! When my 14 year old persian and her sister were little, they got into everything! They nearly knocked over the Christmas tree when they were 6 months old! Everything was explored, including the dryer! My Sukki, who I lost to cancer (she was 11), also loved to hang out in the sink. I am always amazed at how cats have their own personalities! They are little people in fur coats!

Erin~ I think that is true in part. My husband has bad allergies, especially to dogs. When he pets Leo he's fine, but if Leo scratches him, he'll break out in hives. I think they are partially hypo-allergenic. Their hair doesn't really shed at all, which is really nice!

Lady Betty~ Sarvannahs are so amazing also! We looked at a couple here, and they were just too much for us to handle. I liked the look of bengals a lot more, but they both such beautiful breeds. You're right, even if Leo was a different breed he'd still be one hyper kitten! They are so fun at this stage! I'm sorry to hear about your Sukki. It's so hard to lose cats. I think that really is one of the hardest parts about owning animals - you are likely going to loose them. But it's so great to be able to enjoy them and their life while they're here. I love kitties!! :)
